Since the 1904 World’s Fair, travelers have been singing, “Meet Me In St. Louie, Louie." After a busy day of meetings at the Envision Conference, there will be much to do and see in St. Louis, day or night, for you or the entire family.
St. Louis, the “Gateway to the West” on the Mississippi River offers more free major attractions, for the entire family, than any place outside the nation’s capital. In St. Louis, theZoo (one of the finest in the world), Art Museum, Science Center, History Museum, Anheuser-Busch Brewery tours,Grant’s Farm, Botanical Gardens and a host of other stops do not charge admission. The city is filled with trendy shops, charming neighborhoods, exceptional arts, as well as many historical, cultural, and entertaining family attractions with top-notch restaurants to boot. St. Louis has it all.
The most recognizable landmark in St. Louis is The Gateway Arch. It is America’s tallest man-made monument. Noted as “The Gateway to the West,” it is a tribute to the opening of the American West. You can combine a tram ride to the top with a paddlewheel riverboat cruise and a bike rental on the Riverfront Trail all within steps of the Envision Conference 2011. The Gateway Arch area is known as the "Core of Discovery St. Louis," and many opportunities are highlighted at www.stlouis.com.
St. Louis is also a major sporting event venue. The St. Louis Cardinals have several home games during Envision Conference 2011, taking on the New York Mets, September 20 - 22, and the Chicago Cubs, September 23 - 25. The Envision Conference hotel, Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, is literally "at" the ballpark, with many rooms having a view of Busch Stadium. See the Tickets options to plan your trip to the ballpark.
A few steps from the Arch is the historic riverfront area called Laclede’s Landing, (the "Landing" as it is called by locals), and offers fifteen unique restaurants, bars and nightclubs, as well as several retail shops, theaters and attractions. Laclede’s Landing is downtown St. Louis’ oldest district and only riverfront entertainment and dining destination. A favorite among locals and conventioneers alike, its century-old buildings and cobblestone streets offer an experience of St. Louis’ earliest days.
